We are seeking a Utility Designer to join our team. The work will be completed within the Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) service territories in Wisconsin and will consist of design services on gas and electric utility design projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the utility industry, with a focus on design, construction, and GPS survey equipment, however candidates with any technical education or work experience will be considered and in-the-job training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Design and draft utility layouts and specifications for gas and electric distribution.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather relevant data.
- Collaborate with project teams to maintain compliance with utility standards and regulations.
- Utilize design software to create detailed project drawings.
- Use GPS survey equipment to gather and analyze site data for utility design projects.
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of utility construction projects.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in the utility industry.
- Preferred experience with gas and electric utilities.
- Experience in utility construction is a plus.
- Proficiency in design software.
- Familiarity with GPS survey equipment is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance for performing site visits.
