Kapur helps long-term initiative start on the right foot.

Wanting to begin a long-term undertaking that would add non-motorized transportation alternatives and improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists throughout the industrial business campus on its west side along 72 Avenue, the City of Wausau selected Kapur to provide the preliminary and final design of the new 1.2-mile-long shared-use path.

Funded utilizing the Transportation Alternatives Program, the project provided approximately 1,300 feet of new boardwalk, and with a portion running under STH 29, WisDOT coordination was required.

Our design team utilized the Sponsor’s Guide to Non-Traditional Transportation Project Implementation Manual, the WisDOT Bicycle Design Handbook, and the WisDOT Facilities Development Manual.
