With the safety of residents and their homes impacted following the collapse of a stormwater pipe spanning Barnett Lane, Kapur was retained to assess and design remediation for the failing bluff, allowing for a geotechnical engineer to perform borings, analyze the slope failure, and develop a restoration plan.

The geotechnical report recommended excavating soils and installing rip rap with anchors, and design plans were prepared to include the bluff restoration, an outlet structure, and a new directional drilled outlet pipe to the bottom of the bluff.

Despite access to the bluff being a challenge because of steep slopes and large trees, Kapur provided construction management services, and a hydraulic analysis was prepared for the area draining to the bluff to aid in the design of an outlet structure and outlet pipe.

Progress walkthroughs took place during the project's demolition, construction, and restoration phases, culminating in the successful implementation of a durable and resilient solution.
