To jumpstart the project and quickly produce information and dates for the public to get involved, Kapur assisted WisDOT in developing a public involvement plan for this 14-mile reconstruction of I-43.
Raising the bar in terms of turnaround time and the quality of the visualizations, Kapur developed presentations, exhibits, and handouts in advance for review and revision prior to final print for inclusion at public involvement meetings, held on two dates, in two separate locations, to encourage public participation.
Pre-meeting pep rallies were held to discuss hot topics to ensure team members were consistent with information provided to the public.
The project’s expansion along the entire corridor included the reconstruction of several interchanges, including:
A new interchange was added at Highland Road and the Brown Deer Road interchange is being built as a Diverging Diamond Interchange.
