Connecting students and the community at large.

Konkel Park is the largest park managed by the City of Greenfield, centrally located between Greenfield High School and Edgewood Elementary School. Kapur has been assisting with redeveloping the park since 2010. Accessible sidewalks were constructed around the new buildings and connected throughout the park with asphalt paths. The park promotes outdoor activities with the weekly farmers market, concerts at the amphitheater, food truck nights, and softball and volleyball leagues. The projects have been funded with Community Development Block Grants, Green Infrastructure Grants, and local funding sources.

Community Shelters, Amphitheater, Food Pavilion, and Parking Lot

Kapur provided all site civil design for site grading, drainage, landscaping, lighting, sidewalks, asphalt paths, and all above-ground improvements related to two new shelters, a concession stand, amphitheater, volleyball courts, and parking lot. The asphalt paths provide connectivity throughout the park.

High School to Konkel Park Trail

To continue providing connectivity to Konkel Park Kapur provided design services for a path between Greenfield High School and Konkel Park, along the south side of Honey Creek that included a new asphalt path, landscaping, grading, and street lighting. The 1,600-foot path connects the Greenfield High School baseball diamond, tennis courts, and soccer field directly to Konkel Park. This project was done as part of the Safe Routes to Schools Program.
