A fast-tracked project that discourages speeding.

When the Wisconsin Department of Transportation allocated funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for use on the resurfacing of Market Street between Court Street (STH 11) and Wisconsin Street (STH 67), there was no doubt Kapur would effectively and efficiently perform the rehabilitation – but in less than three months?

Following the WisDOT process, Kapur exceeded expectations by completing the project ahead of schedule, including full-depth milling of the existing asphalt pavement and full-depth resurfacing with a minimum of 4 inches of new asphalt pavement. Other improvements included removing and repairing damaged curb and gutter, curb ramp and ADA updates, new pavement marking, and roadway signage updates.

Traffic control and construction staging plans were developed for pedestrian access, through traffic was routed with a detour, and underutilized on-street parking along the south side of Market Street was removed to provide on-street bicycle accommodations in each direction and discourage speeding in the corridor.
