When the Milwaukee County Zoo needs to update its exhibits, it turns to those it knows can handle the task under the watchful eye of the roughly 1.3 million visitors it hosts each year.
No stranger to working on high-profile projects, Kapur was entrusted to complete interior and exterior 3D LiDAR scanning for updates to the rhino and penguin exhibits, including multi-level buildings to create point clouds for a 3D BIM model for use during the design phase of the project.
Photogrammetry UAV flights were also completed for each exhibit area to capture updated imagery and the roofs of all buildings to supplement design sheets and layout sheets.
