The project consisted of three unique projects along the STH 13 corridor in Price County constructed during the 2022 construction season, including a 14.1-mile rural highway recondition, a 3.2-mile urban/rural recondition, and a 3.3-mile rural recondition. The projects included milling and HMA overlay, replacement of substandard and failing culvert pipes, replacement of curb and gutter, pedestrian curb ramps, snowmobile crossings, and pavement marking. Our staff oversaw four culvert pipe replacements, over 2,600 feet of curb replacement, HMA paving and testing of 43,000 tons of HMA, temporary pedestrian accommodations and construction of 17 ADA-compliant curb ramps, and beam guard adjustments. Much of the work was completed concurrently, and the project team worked diligently with the contractors and WisDOT to ensure quality projects were completed on time and under budget.
This project also involved 55,000 feet of rumble strips, two culvert pipe replacements, beam guard adjustments, snowmobile crossings, and pavement marking. Kapur provided overall administration of the contract along with inspection, material testing, erosion control compliance, traffic control compliance, public relations, utility coordination, measurements, contract change orders, record keeping, and estimates.
