STH 20 (Washington Avenue) is a highly traveled and critical route for commuters making their way to downtown Racine. For two years, in 2021 and 2022, Kapur staff provided overall construction administration and inspection services on this high-profile reconstruction project.
Because the project extends through two separate business districts, and also a dense residential neighborhood, the design included numerous Community Service Sensitive (CSS) design elements including commercial walk, landscaping, decorative lighting, and decorative pavements.
This project included 70,000 cubic yards of excavation, over 50,000 square yards of concrete pavement, 100,000 square feet of sidewalk and five signalized intersections.
