Client
WisDOT SE Region
A major project requiring a major public involvement strategy.

Preparing to reconstruct 16.5 miles of State, Village, and County multi-lane roadways in and around the Wisconn Valley (Foxconn) development, WisDOT leaned on Kapur’s public involvement team to spearhead the project’s outreach efforts by gathering data and meeting with stakeholders and the public.

In addition to facilitating and attending meetings with key stakeholders, business associations, individual businesses, neighborhood community-based organizations, and the public, Kapur assisted residents, major stakeholders, local officials, and commuters with impact updates.

One-on-one communications and issue management with affected residents and businesses during construction were vital to providing a successful project, and additional outreach efforts included:

  • creating get-around-guides
  • providing construction updates
  • hosting public involvement meetings
  • public hearing coordination
  • social media outreach
  • exhibit, presentation, newsletter, email, and local business signage creation
