The reconstruction of the Zoo Interchange reconfigured Wisconsin’s busiest interchange located at the junction of I-41/94/894 in western Milwaukee County. The project included six service interchanges, 9 miles of freeways, and 12 miles of arterial roadways.
The public involvement team was involved in all major aspects of the project’s public outreach efforts. Which includes creating get-around guides, construction updates, public involvement meeting coordination, exhibits, presentations, newsletters, social media, email blasts, maintaining the project website, and local business signage. The public involvement team also provided outreach to local businesses and residents/commuters via project information booths around the County. Close coordination with State Fair Park, The Pettit National Ice Center, Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, and Milwaukee County Zoo was integral for a successful project.
